  • Don’t worry about time, computer does time controlling.
  • Speak clearly- Being too low or quick can affect your scores. Continue speaking even if you make a mistake. Be natural and confident.
  • Be Prepared- You must know what you will be talking about,. The purpose of the introduction is to make a good impression. Be prepared in advance.
  • Record yourself- Recording yourself will help you check your faults, you will get to know your level, your pace, volume, way of conveying message, how much your message is conveyed and many more.
  • While listening grasp the tone of the speaker and follow it. Don’t eat up words, take notes, carefully listen to ed’sand ‘s, make sure to repeat them while speaking.
  • Identify the type of image, is it a bar graph, a picture, a map, a chart or a table. Take notes. Try to determine the main points of the image, look for highest and lowest values. You must know terms like “vertical axis”, “horizontal axis” ,“data calibration”, “data represents the information” and more. Describe the image well.
  • Be careful about microphones as it turns off automatically if there is no sound for more than 3 seconds. Don’t give too long pauses, the status bar starts to record right after the question is asked.
  • Write quickly, use abbreviations, leave articles. It will help you to catch up with your speed.
  • Focus on main idea. Look for the stresses given on the words, names, phrases, etc. Leave at least 10 seconds for re-checking, if the speaker draws a conclusion, be sure you have identified it well.
